Where are you located?
Persons Orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Joint Replacement Center is located in the Godwin Building at 1005 Commercial Lane, Suite 210 in Suffolk, Virginia.
- From Godwin Boulevard, turn onto Corporate Lane at the WaWa Gas Station.
- Take the first left after Affordable Dentures onto Commercial Lane.
- Turn left at the Godwin Building sign. You will see a building with a sign for Nansemond Pediatrics.
- Our office is on the second floor.
Where does Dr. Persons do surgery?
Dr. Persons holds operating privileges at Sentara Obici Hospital and Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. In addition, he performs surgery at the Obici Ambulatory Surgery Center.
How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please call the office at 757-538-1776. You can also email a request using the Contact Us tab above.
How should I prepare for my orthopaedic appointment?
On the day of your visit, please remember to bring:
- A photo ID
- Your current insurance card(s)
- A list of medications you are currently taking, including dosages. Remember to note any vitamins or non-prescription drugs you take on a regular basis.
- Your co-pay (if applicable)
- Copies of x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, if applicable
- A list of questions you may have related to the orthopaedic issue for which you are being seen
- You may also visit the Patient Resources page to print and fill out Patient Forms in advance of your office visit.

Why did I have to wait for my appointment?
While we value your time, medical emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may cause longer than expected wait times. Our goal is to provide each patient with quality individualized care and communication about orthopaedic concerns. It is not unusual for patients to spend 1-2 hours at their appointments. We appreciate your patience, knowing that the care staff will take time to address your orthopaedic needs during your visit. Feel free to bring a book or tablet, and use the free Wifi available in the Reception Area.
